Looking for a fuss-free snack that’s perfect for your little human? These Banana Oat Bars are a BLW dream. Naturally sweet, soft enough for little mouths, and packed with wholesome goodness and a reliable on-the-go snack
Ingredients:
• 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
• 1 cup rolled oats (quick oats work too)
• 1/4 cup coconut oil (or melted butter)
• 1/4 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
• 1 tbsp chia seeds or ground flaxseed (optional – adds fibre and healthy fats)
• Optional add-ins:
• Finely grated apple or carrot
• A handful of blueberries
• Unsweetened shredded coconut
• A sprinkle of hemp seeds or finely chopped dates
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a small baking dish or tray with baking paper.
2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas.
3. Add the oats, coconut oil, cinnamon, and any optional extras.
4. Mix until combined. The mixture should be thick and sticky.
5. Press into your lined tray and flatten with the back of a spoon.
6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until lightly golden and firm to touch.
7. Cool completely before slicing into bars or fingers.
